Deactivated WWII US Thompson M1928A1

This is a WWII US Thompson 1928A1 Submachine gun that was manufactured by Auto-Ordnance, Bridgeport, USA. They made this model from August 1941 until October 1942 with their last M1928A1 completed on 15th October that year. Government documents show that the Bridgeport factory manufactured a total of 323,900 M1928A1 during this period. This being a fairly early example number 68,499th and has matching numbers. The woodwork is in lovely condition, and the gun is fitted with a Cutts Compensator, finned barrel and adjustavble flip-up "Lyman"sights.  Deactivated with a moving cocking lever that returns under spring tension.
