Product Information

This is an excellent example of a Second World War US Thompson M1A1 Sub-machine gun with matching numbers. Stamped with "US Property", this marking was most commonly used and associated with weapons that were assigned to the British military as part of the Lend Lease agreements between the British and US Governments during WWII. It has the correct US Ordnance and inspectors markings; GHD - Guy H Drewry and the US cross cannons. Note that this Thompson was originally made as an M1 afterwhich it was upgraded to an M1A1. During production the the factory hand stamped "A1" after the roll stamped M1 designation. One of the classic SMG's from WWII. The serial number dates this example to 1943 production. This M1A1 may well have been involved in the D-Day landing of June 1944.

This example features a moving and tensioned trigger and bolt/carrier assembly that will return under spring tension.
