Deactivated WWII Vickers Machine Gun With Accessories

This is an impressive WWII Vickers machine gun that comes with a whole host of extras. Included is a 1942 dated tripod with its matching pintle, WWII dated and Broad arrow stamped water cooling can, rubber hose and wooden ammunition box. The Vickers is also fitted with sight bracket to mount the a Dial Sight MKI. The serial number of this Vickers dates to mid 1942 production and would make a fantastic centre piece to any collection. The number "6" painted on the gun identifies this as gun no 6 within its unit that it was issued to. Depending on the size of the unit or batallion it was common practice to issue at least 6 Vickers machines per unit.

The Vickers is one of the most iconic British infantry weapons seeing extensive service with British and Common Wealth forces all over the world and throughout both world wars. They continued in service with the British army until the 1960s. Deactivated with a working action.
