Product Information

This is a truly exceptional example of a WWII British Commando issued Thompson M1A1 submachine gun. During WWII the US agreed to supply British and Common Wealth forces with firearms under the "Lend Lease" program. These guns were marked with the words "US Property". Thompsons that were received by British Commando units were modified so that the sling swivels were mounted on the top of the shoulder stock and to the slide of the foregrip. In addition some had the foregrip hand chequered for better grip. These characteristics can be clearly seen on this superb example. It also has matching numbers to receiver and trigger assembly and has the unit mark "32 D" on the stock. The serial number of example dates to 1942/43 and is one of only 249,555 Thompsons that Auto-Ordnance Bridgeport plant made during WWII. This figure includes both the M1 and M1A1 models.
