Product Information

This is a D-Day era WWII production Ithaca made Colt 1911A1 pistol. It has the correct Ithaca wartime serial number and stamped on the frame is "United States Property" and cross cannons acceptance marks. On the reverse is the correct inspection initials FJA (Frank J Atwood) and "P" proof stamp. This pistol is from a batch of just 71,000 made by Ithaca during 1943. The serial number of this example dates to late 1943 early 1944. This pistol would have almost certianly seen service in Europe during the war. The overall wear and condition would also strongly support this.

The 1911 was the standard issued sidearm of the US military throughout WWII. Chambering the mighty .45 round (the same as the Thompson SMG) it was feared by German troops.

Deactivated to current specifications with moving slide, trigger and hammer. Comes fitted with a Colt manufactured magazine.

This item is available for purchase and is currently at the proof house being certificate.
