Product Information

This is a superb condition WWII dated Russian Mosin Nagant M/91 rifle that has been converted into a sniper rifle being fitted with a PU scope and mounts. Dated 1942, the rifle is all matching numbers included the scope mount. The scope has good clear optics. The square box with diagonal line through it is the Russian Arsenal refurbishment stamp, meaning that this rifle returned from wartime duties and was reworked. This can be seen on the magazine housing that was replaced and renumbered by the armorer. This is a very good indication that this rifle saw action.

The Nagant sniper rifle was made famous by the film Enemy at the Gates, a film about the Russian sniper ace Vassili Zaitsev, played by Jude Law. Zaitsev is credited with 242 kills in Stalingrad using his type of Nagant rifle. Russia, unlike most other military nations, also used women to carry out sniper duties, and had over 2000 during WW2. They proved very effective and accurate snipers!! Deactivated to current specifications with moving parts.

This item is available for purchase and is currently at the proof house being certificated.
