Just Arrived, Deactivated WWII SMLE Dated 1942

This is an all matching numbers Second World War SMLE MKIII* rifle. Dated 1942 is was manufactured by BSA. This rifle was manufactured during WWII when Britain had a huge shortage of long arms and materials to produce them. Utilizing partly completed and pre-manufactured parts Enfield & BSA were using all available parts to assemble as many serviceable weapons as possible. This can be clearly seen on this SMLE. Note the stampings on the body are only partly finished, the receiver only bears the letter B from the BSA name. The last two digits of the year "42" were added on completion. Incredible this rifle has remained complete from the day it was made. Accompanying this rifle is an original Enfield made 1942 dated 1907 Pattern bayonet with scabbard and period canvas sling. The magazine contains 5 inert WWII rounds.
