Product Information

This functioning replica was built for the 1990 WWII action movie "Memphis Belle". Originally it was designed to be used as a prop that was mounted in a French owned B17 that was one of aircraft used during filming. But this plane was destroyed whilst filming in a fire. This gun was recovered and rebuilt by Mr S Harrington one of the set engineers involved in building these guns. He then set about repairing and restoring it ready for use in the film once again. This one is a complete one off as he made it capable of firing 9mm blanks. This 50 cal is the type used by the waist gunners mounted either side of a B17 toward the rear section of the plane. It can be cocked and dry fired, is fully strippable and fires 9mm blanks. The barrel shield is a genuine US  50 cal with receiver and internals all being bespoke and made just for the gun. The belt of rounds is purely decorative.
