Product Information

Rarely seen an early production, Second World War US M1A1 carbine as used by US airbourne troops. Inland Manufacturing Division of General Motors was the only manufacturer of the M1A1 version of the M1 carbine and manufactured approximately 140,000 by the end of the war. The M1A1 carbines were manufactured in two production runs, both of approximately 70,000 units. The first production batch was delivered from late 1942 through until October 1943. These early M1A1s featured flip sights, no bayonet attachment lug and top piece of wood with only two rivets. The stock has the correct OI carcaouches inside on the barrel channel, a very faint letter P proof stamp on the pistol grip, correct B257614* sunburst in a circle and drawing number 12. Metal work is parkerized with correct leather and rivets. The additional markings "MRT 9-58" are that of the Korean war. Meaning it was issued again after WWII. Deactivated with a working action it can be cockjed, stripped and dry fired.
