A lovely original WWI British made Short magazine Lee Enfield ( SMLE ) Rifle with magazine cut-off plate and bayonet . The rifle is dated 1916 and has regimental marking on the brass plate . These brass plates were often removed by the British soldiers , if captured it also would give important information to the Germans as to which regiments were in the area . The British Army realized this midway through WWI and all rifles were issued without these markings . The bayonet is stamped 1907 , dated 1915 and the maker is Sanderson . A rare opportunity to own a genuine piece of WWI British history . Deactivated with a working action , it can be cocked , stripped and dry fired . Comes complete with sling and inert .303 rounds
