Product Information

This is a 1913 dated German Imperial Army PO8 Luger. Erfurt only made 22,000 in 1913 with recorded serial numbers from 575 to 2575b, this example is number 2253a from the second batch of that year. Note it doesn't have the stock slot on the pistol grip and is not fitted with a hold open latch. Another unusual feature is the Prussian Eagle on the trigger guard. Respected and informed Luger expert Jan Still states that early 1913 dated PO8 Lugers marked in this way are rare. He also states the purpose of the trigger guard eagle was to identify Imperial property and prevent its theft. All Army high commanders were asked to take the necessary steps on the whereabouts of all pistols in use by troops.

This Luger is regimentally marked 73.R.5.6. - 73rd Regiment 5th Kompany, Weapon no 6, and confirms that this pistol was in military service. It has all matching numbers apart from the magazine, with its original factory finish and matching grips. All parts carry acceptance stamps, even the grip screws and grips!

Deactivated to old specifications with a working action it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
