Product Information

This is a very early production pre WWII Nazi K98 code S/147/G. This actual K98 was manufactured at the beginning of the Nazis rearmament program in preparation for outbreak of WWII. Mauser and JP Sauer were the first two companies awarded the contracts to make the K98. Both companies started manufacturing them in 1934 but only completed very small quantities. The following year saw Sauer's first full years of production completing an estimated 75,574 rifles, which was still a relatively small amount taking into consideration that this did not include those made in 1934, making this the fewest of any full years production. This example may well have been involved in the pre WWII propaganda films. It is worth bearing in mind that by the end of 1935 a little over 200,000 K98s had been made! By the end of the war over 14 million had been completed. Incredibly it still retains many original matched parts including the bolt. The receiver bears the early Weimar drop winged eagle acceptance stamps 116 & 114.

Deactivated with a working action it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
