Deactivated 1937 dated Nazi marked Portuguese contract Mauser K98 carbine. Produced for the Portuguese, they were designated as the model M937-A by the Nazis and marked with Mauser name and address. Although originally destine for Portugal, large quantities were instead requisitioned by the Nazis and diverted to the Germany Luftwaffe and Wehrmacht. The overall design is very similar to the German made K98 and chamber the same 7.92mm ammunition. Just visible on the receiver ring is the Portuguese crest and dated stamp. This example looks to have been modified for a scope with holes drilled for scope mountings. This maybe why the forward sight is not the standard double winged type normally fitted to this model.  Covered in a plethora of Nazi markings with correct Waffen code Eagle over 63 (Mauser).  Deactivated with a working action it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
