An early pre WWII Mauser Borsigwalde (Berlin) K98. Manufactured in 1937 under secret Nazi code S/243. A superb example with many matching numbers. The known serial number range ran from 4631 to 897h, with an estimated production run of just 90, 000, and is from only their third year of K98 manufacture. That year saw the use of Waffen code Eagle over 211 and 280 proof stamps. The stock has some interesting markings that suggest that this K98 may have been used in Yugoslavian as well as Norway. A well traveled K98.  Eventually this K98 fell into Norwegian hands and was marked and used by their forces. Deactivated with a working action it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
