Product Information

Rare early production Roth Steyr M1907 Pistol. This is a fantastic example of a Roth Steyr M1907. This fine, early example bears the military acceptance stamp, Wn 10 meaning Wiener-Neustadt 1910, together with the Hapsburg eagle. 1910 was only the second year of production with around an estimated 21,500 pistols made. The serial number 30632 puts this at around number 6500 of that year. Steyr only produced 52,000 from 1909 to 1913. Just visible are the regimentally markings on the disc. Although very faint we believe it reads 28 FK ? 44, which may signify Field Gun Regiment. These pistols proved very popular with the Austro Hungarian cavalry during WWI. It has a very long trigger pull which made it ideal for use by mounted troops, as it made it less prone to accidental discharge should a horse become lively whilst the trooper had his finger on the trigger. No commercial models were ever produced. This was the first self-loading pistol to replace a revolver by a major power. Deactivated with a working action it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
