Product Information

This is a WWII K98 coded "337" ( Gustloffwerke) dated 1940. Gustloff were first contracted to produce the K98 in 1939 after the B.S.W. arsenal was absorbed by them. The 337 coding was only used for just over one year from late 1939 until 1940. The known serial number range for 1940 is from 9170 to 157n with an estimated production run of only 145,000 K98s, making them fairly scarce. The receiver bears the correct Eagle over 749 and rear sight  Eagle over 1 proofs. This example was captured by the Russian who have attempted to stamp out the Nazi eagle proofs. The Russian's eventually gave up with this practice.
