This is an early First World War Mauser manufactured Imperial German Army Gewehr 98 rifle. Dated 1915 it retains many of its original parts including the barrel, lower wood work, barrel bands, rear sight and floor plate assemblies and even the screws.The bolt is matched to itself with Imperial army proofs. The Gew98 was Germany armies standard infantry rifle and was used on all fronts during the Great War. Those that survived were put back into service again with Nazi forces in WWII. Deactivated with moving parts it comes with an EU/UK certificate of deactivation.
