Product Information

Rarely seen, an original German manufactured double barrel hammer shotgun. It was made by A.Hickfang, and is a high quality and well finish shotgun. The craftsmanship and attention to detail is superb. This would have been an extremely expensive gun when it was originally manufactured. It has the correct period German proof stamps (Crown over U and Crown over R - both proof stamps were only used from 1891 until 1939). The Crown over R means that it was reproofed again at some stage in its life. The barrels were manufactured by A. Krupp, one of the best and renowned German gun makers and suppliers of high quality firearms and parts. The stock is beautifully carved with presumably the owners hunting hound. A.Hickfang were renowned for making extremely high end shotguns. They produced three barreled "Drilling" combination shotgun/rifles that were used by the German Luftwaffe during WWII. All parts on this gun are matched and the action is still tight and crisp. Although its difficult to precisely date this shotgun the proof stamps, hammer action and serial number would indicate that it is pre WWI production. Deactivated with a working action it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
