Deactivated Mauser Model 1934 pistol. Chambered in 7.65mm. The serial number 530630 dates to around mid to late 1930s and is from the final years of production of this model. Production finished in 1941. Marked on the slide D.R.U.u.A.P.- Deutsches Reichspatent und Auslandspatentelt. This example has an Eagle over N proof stamp on the barrel, this proof stamp was first introduced early in 1940. It has the correct crown over the letter U stamp behind the rear sight on the slide, this is the final or definitive proof marking that became law on April 1893 in Germany. Referred to as "Commercial" finished pistols they were privately purchased by German officers and used throughout WWII. The model 1934 has featured in many classic movies including 'The Guns Of Navarone' in the hands of Gregory Peck and in the 'Great Escape'. Deactivated with a working action it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
