Product Information

Deactivated Old Spec early Pre WWI dated German P.O8 Luger by DWM (Deutsche Waffen-und Munitionsfabriken). Originally issued in 1911, this Luger was subject to the strict regulations imposed by the Allied forces after WWI. In the aftermath of WWI the Allied Commission created the Treaty of Versailles which banned Germany from having weapons longer than 100mm. For weapons to meet with this new regulation they first had to be inspected/reworked and then redated with the year (with this Luger 1920) before being reissued. This Luger also bears capture markings from the Second World War, a good indication it was involved, with a 46 stamped on the barrel and an X forward of the trigger guard. Post WWII many Lugers were used again by the various police and military units within Germany whilst the country was under Allied governance. From all its various markings and change of ownership stamps collected throughout its service life, we can deduce that this Luger saw active service before during and after both world wars. A very interesting and well traveled pistol! Deactivated  to old specifications in 1993 it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
