Product Information

Rare WWII Dated Finnish captured, Russian Mosin Nagant Infantry Rifle Model M/91 with early "Hex" receiver. In 1939 Russia attempted to reclaim territory lost during the Russian Civil War in 1917 when Finland declared independence from Russia.  Russian forces were ill-prepared for the freezing conditions and aggressive defense by Finnish forces, the conflict ended in 1940 and is better known as the "Winter War" . The Fin's captured various weapons, including M/91 rifles, after defeating the Russians these newly captured weapons were marked with Finnish army property stamp "SA" . They were then arsenal reworked and have distinctive sling hoops, wood work and rear sights, all Finnish army conversions and only seen on this type of rifle. This example is dated 1940 and is in super condition. Finland sided and fort along side Nazi Germany during WWII. As you can imagine these rifles are very uncommon, few, if any being seen in the UK! A very interesting piece of war history. Originally deactivated in 1985  it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
