This is a pre WWI DWM manufactured Mauser M1908 rifle that was made for the Brazilian contract. The contract ran from 1908 until the beginning of WWI in 1914. The overall design is very similar to the German army Gew98 rifles with the most obvious difference being the rear leaf sight and top piece of woodwork. This particular rifle has provenance once being part of the Cobbaton Combat Collection, Umberleigh, Devon before being released into the collectors market.
