The hand detailing on this gun is superb. Using an eye glass or camera lens this can really be appreciated. This example has the correct period German proof stamps (Crown over U and Nitro stamps) The "Nitro" stamp was used from 1912 to 1939. The serial number and markings date to the 1930s. The action features Purdey double sliding bolt with Greener cross-bolt. The barrels were manufactured by Krupp Essen one of the best and renowned German gun makers and suppliers of high quality firearms and parts. Nimrod also produced three barreled "Drilling" combination shotgun/rifles that were used by the German Luftwaffe during WWII. In the latter stages of WWII, German forces were using these shotguns to defend Germany from the Allied advance. A superb German hand crafted shotgun.
