Product Information

This is a rare early production Roth Steyr M1907 Pistol. This fine, early example bears the military acceptance stamp, Wn 11 meaning Wiener-Neustadt 1911, together with the Hapsburg eagle. 1911 was only Steyr's third year of production but also saw very few made. The known serial numbers indicate that as few as 1400 to 1500 were ever produced that year, with Steyr only producing a total of 52,000 from 1909 to 1913.

These pistols proved very popular with the Austro-Hungarian cavalry during WWI. It has a very long trigger pull which made it ideal for use by mounted troops, as it made it less prone to accidental discharge should a horse become lively whilst the trooper had his finger on the trigger. No commercial models were ever produced. This was the first self-loading pistol to replace a revolver by a major power.

Deactivated with a working action it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
