Product Information

This is a rare Second World War, Nazi Police issued Mauser (byf) P38 pistol. It is one of only 3800 P38's ordered in 1944 for the police, which is a tiny amount when you consider over 1.2 million were made during the war. These pistols were marked with a Nazi eagle and the letter L to distinguish them from the military issued pistols and also bear the Eagle over N commercial proof stamps by the serial number and on the barrel, again only used on pistols assigned to the Nazi police. They were issued to various branches of the Nazi police regime including the infamous Gestapo. The pistol is all matching numbers with correct wartime byf coded magazine. This to has an unusual feature, the numbered base plate. This was only normally done by individual police units on their weapons. A rare pistol of which very few now exist. Deactivated with a working action it can be cocked and dry fired.
