Product Information

This a very interesting and well travelled Mosin Nagant M1891 rifle. It was manufactured in the US by Remington Armory as part of the Russian contract  from 1915 to 1917. Remington produced 840,310 M1891 rifles, of which 131,400 had arrived in Russia by January 1917. In 1939 this rifle was used by Russian forces in its failed attempt to invade Finland and reclaim territory lost during the Russian Civil War in 1917 when Finland declared independence from Russia. The Russian were ill prepared and suffered heavy losses of men and machinery, including lots of M91 rifles that were captured. The Finns decided to reworked these captured rifles. One of the most visual alteration being the rear sight assembly. This can be seen on this example and is unique to Finnish Nagant rifles. A rarely seen rifle that spans both world wars and both allied and axis forces. Deactivated with a working action, it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
