Product Information

This is an exceptionally rare WWII Nazi PO8 Luger, the like of which are rarely seen in the collectors market that comes with an equally remarkable history. Dated 1939 with all matching numbers on the pistol itself only the magazine numbers differ. The toggle is correctly marked "42" for Mauser with the Waffen acceptance stamps Eagle over 655. The rear of the pistol grip is marked with the German Navy (Kriegsmarine) property stamp. The capital letter N denotes that this Luger was issued to the Nordsee Fleet - North Sea Fleet of the German Navy. The numbers below 3894 are the weapon numbers. It is estimated that no more than 500, 1939 dated Lugers were allocated to the German Navy making this an astonishing find. The vast majority were delivered to German land forces, the handful that the Navy received through warfare ended up at the bottom of the ocean, making any surviving examples of this pistol highly sought after. After surviving maritime warfare, this pistol went on to be reissued to the Soviet Sector of The Berlin Police. On the front of the grip are the initials "S XIX" these were applied after WWII ended when Germany was broken up into four Allied sectors - Russian, British, French and US. These markings are Russian and indicate that this pistol was assigned to the Berlin Police - Soviet Sector.

The odds of this pistol surviving given the limited amount issued are incredible, you can be sure this will be the crowning glory of any collection!
