Product Information

This is a stunning condition and very rare First World War PO8 Luger that was reworked in 1921 by Simpson. Dated 1918, it was originally manufactured by DWM for WW1. After the war as part of the Treaty of Versailles, Germany was permitted to arm its forces with pistols. Under this agreement this Luger was reworked by Simpson in 1921 and bears their inspection stamp Eagle over 6 on the trigger guard, grips and various parts. It also has the early Wermeir Police sear safety and is fitted with a rare six inch barrel. All visible numbers are matched, including the grips and Nazi marked magazine. A very rare and desirable Luger that was used in both World Wars and during the interwar period when the Nazi party was being formed.

After some further investigation and research we believe that the partial markings just visible after the number 8 in the 1918 date stamp are most likely a "Death Head" stamp. This stamp was used by German units and regiments in both world wars and is most commonly associated with Nazi SS issued weapons. This may explain why its been removed.
