Product Information

This is a very rare Second World War Nazi Mauser Hsc which was issued to the German Navy (Kriegsmarine). It is a third variant and is from a very small batch of only 2,000 that were marked with the Kreigsmarine "Eagle over M" property stamps. Known serial numbers fall between 733532 and 885247. This one is serial number 778301 which dates it to 1942. Serialization for the HSc started at 700,001. This is pistol number 78,302nd. The Eagle over M indicates that this pistol was issued to a serving member of the German Naval fleet, most likely assigned to a battleship. This further supported by the Norwegian ownership stamps on the slide. During WWII Germany had some 400,000 military personnel garirsoned in Norway. When Germany surrendered all captured weapons were put back into service with the Norwegian armed forces and marked accordingly. It also has the lanyard hole at the base of the pistol grip (only found on early models). The trigger guard is correctly marked with the Navy acceptance stamps "Eagle over M III/6" and the proof stamps Eagle over N on the other side and on the slide. Due to the heavy loses of the German navy, the vast majority of issued weaponry was lost at sea, making these surviving examples that much rarer.
