An early production Walther Model 8 pistol "First Variant". This example dates to around 1920 when production first began. Serial numbers run from 390,000 to 480,000, with an estimated total production of about 84,000. During WWII the Model 8 was often carried by staff officers  and as a backup gun by aviators, tank crewmen, and the SS, many of whom required weapons that could be used in confined spaces or easily to conceal. Still great condition with its original finish, grips and magazine. Deactivated with a working action it can be cocked, stripped an dry fired.
