Product Information

A matching numbers, WWI Austrian Steyr Cavalry Carbine straight pull bolt action. The enlarged ball on the bolt makes it easier to cock, sling mounting points are positioned close together, this make handling easier when on horse back. This weapon used a special clip to hold the cartridges which was ejected through a hole in the bottom of the magazine when it was empty. This is an early example from that years production and has an "A" suffix in the serial number.  In 1930 most M95 rifles were converted to the more powerful 8x56R M30 ammunition and marked with the letter "S". The original military acceptance and date stamps of 1916 can just be seen beneath it. Deactivated with a working action it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
