Product Information

This is an all matching numbers German M1894 Hebel flare pistol. Manufactured by Julius Gottfrid Anshutz (German manufactures code "J.G.A." in an oval.) . This variant differs from most others by virtue of a rounded frame just above the wooden grips.  They were used by the German Military throughout both world wars, being used when signalling to German soldier to go "over the top" when leaving their trenches and engaging Allied forces. German aviators often carried this type of flare pistol to shoot at British aircraft and then-hydrogen filled balloons. Still remarkably good original condition with it wartime bluing and wooden grips. Matching number and with the correct imperial German arm acceptance stamps.

Deactivated with a working action it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
