This is an original First World War issued German Mauser C96 pistol and holster. The serial number 354491 dates the pistol to 1916 production with all numbers matched including both grips. The original finish is still incredible crisp with evenly worn wooden grips. The original holster which accompanies it is marked under the flap with what looks to be the name, rank and numbers of the owner it was issued to. The C96 or "Broomhandle" as its often referred to were issued to German forces during both world wars and were a favourite Allied bring-back or war trophy. This pistol and holster are brand new to the collectors market, only recently being discovered. A rare find and a great piece of war history. Very few of these leather holsters survive, most having perished or been lost during service. Comes with clip and ten rounds. The pistol can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
