Product Information

This is a super condition and rare First World War dated German Navy Luger. It was manufactured by DWM (Deutsche Waffen und Munitions Fabriken). This example is referred to as the 1908 variant without grip safety, and revised thumb safety catch. It has the correct Navy acceptance stamps (crown over M) and is matching numbers. Navy Lugers are fitted with a 6 inch barrel and a distinctive two-position (100-200m) sight on the rear toggle link. Another feature is the magazine, it has rings or ridges on either side of the wooden base. German Naval records show that in 1917 around 3,000 Navy Lugers were received, this pistol being one of those pistols.

They are by far one of the rarest of the Luger variants, as many ended up at the bottom of the ocean. Surviving examples often being in poor condition from salt water corrosion.
