Product Information

This is a genuine First World War, Mannlicher M1888 straight pull rifle with battlefield damage. The M1888 was manufactured by OEWG Steyr and by F.G.GY. (FEG) Budapest , Hungary from 1891 to 1896. Steyr produced one million, however FEG only managed to make 95,000. This example has its original matched wood work and has matching numbers to the receiver and barrel. It has shrapnal/bullet strike impacts to the receiver, magazine and barrel that have also caused damage to the wood work. Presumable the rifle was still serviceable and was field repaired. The stock is still structurally sound. Austro-Hungary entered the Great War in 1914 siding with Germany, when their main frontline rifle was the M1888.

If you are looking for a WWI rifle that has definitely seen action then this is the rifle for you!
