This is very scarce unmodified Ottoman Model 1893 (Turkish Mauser) with its magazine cut-off and lever and the correct early wood work without through-bolt in the stock. The receiver has the Tughra (crest) of Sultan Mehmed V. The model 1893 would have been present for the Greco-Turkish War, Italo-Turkish War, First and Second Balkan Wars, World War I, Turkish War of Independence, and various rebellions and uprisings during the failing years of the empire. Deactivated with a working action it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
