Deactivated WWII Era Mauser C96

This is a pre WWII C96 pistol or "Broom Handle" Mauser. The frame is correctly marked below the Mauser name with the initials "D.R.P.u.A.P. " (Deutsches Reich Patenten und Anderes Patenten) and has the corresponding German proof stamps. The serial number dates this pistols production to the early 1930s as the Nazi party came to power in Germany. It would have been purchased by either a ranked military officer or official, or by a wealthy gentleman with the authority to hold this type of firearm. Whilst in power the Nazis imposed stricted rules on gun ownership.
