Product Information

This is a WWII Dated Finnish captured "Winter War",  Russian Mosin Nagant Infantry Rifle. In 1939 Russia attempted to claim back lands lost during the Russian Civil War in 1917 when Finland declared independence from Russia. Russian forces we ill-prepared and were repelled by a much smaller Finnish army and as a result suffered a humiliating defeat. The Finns captured large quantities of Soviet weaponry that were quickly reworked in house and then put back into service. These captured weapons will more often than not bear the Finnish property stamp "SA" within a box and will have unique features.  This is one of those weapons. It was produced in 1938 by the Tula arsenal and was when captured a year later in Finland. During WWII Finland sided and fort along side the Nazi forces. As you can imagine these rifles are very uncommon, few, if any being seen in the UK! A very interesting piece of war history. This example comes fitted with its original wood work, cleaning rod and sling hoops.
