This is an early WWII Mauser Borsigwalde (makers code 243) K98 dated 1940 with the correct Waffen codes Eagle over 26. Mauser only made an estimated 198,000 K98's in 1940. This example has no capture or other ownership markings, The stock has the capital letter "L" , this is property mark of the Luftwaffe (German Airforce).
