Product Information

This is an original WWII German LP-42 flare / signal pistol, Luftwaffe issued. The secret makers code "euh" is that of Metallwarenfabrik C.u. W. Meinel. It still retains some of its original grey wartime finish and has its cherry Bakelite grips and lanyard hoop. This example has been fitted with over sized ring through the hammer. Research suggests that whilst in service with the Luftwaffe this was added to make it easier to cock the hammer whilst wearing thick leather gloves. The hammer does have a very strong action and would be difficult to cock in the confines of a bomber. The LP-42 was used in a variety of rolls with German ground and air forces.

Flare pistols remain unaffected by the recent EU/UK law changes and can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
