Deactivated WWII German K98 - Reworked by Yugoslavians

This is a WWII Nazi K98 that was reworked and refurbished after the war at the Yugoslav state arsenal. In the aftermath of WWII and utilising their stocks of captured German weapons, the Yugoslavian Governmnet set about re-arming its armed forces. This K98 was one of those weapons. The receiver has had the Nazi codes, date stamps and Waffen markings removed after which, the Yugoslav crest and factory markings were then added. The Yugoslavs were not overly bothered about the plethora of Nazi markings that were found on the various component parts such as barrel bands and floor plates etc, as can be seen on this example. The main emphasis was to produce serviceable weapons quickly.

Deactivated to current specifications with moving bolt and trigger.
