This is an early German K98 that was manufactured by Mauser in 1937 under the secret Nazi makers code S/42. Early example like this one were among the first K98s to see action in the early stages of the war. This one eventually fell into Russian ownership. One unusual feature is the First World War KAR98 bolt that it is fitted with. This too is Russian captured. A fascinating Nazi K98 with lots of history.
