Product Information

A Second World War issued German Luftwaffe (Airforce) issued K98. The capital L just below the first Nazi eagle was used to signify that this carbine was issued to Luftwaffe, most likely the Fallschirmjager (German Paratroopers). The German airforce were a key part of the German "Blitzkrieg" used throughout its invasions of European countries which proved very affective. This is example is in good condition retaining its original matched wood work, floor plate assembly, barrel bands etc. 1941 saw the introduction of the "byf" coding and date stamp using just two digits (41). The receiver is marked with the correct WaA655 stamps. During WWII this K98 was used during the Nazi occupation of Norway. Norway was of huge strategic importance to Germany for both its navy and airforce. After Germany had surrendered the Nords used these captured weapons to arm its own forces. This one is marked with a rare Norwegian stamps : K.ART..... Kistartilleriet (Coastal Artillery) of which very few exist. Deactivated with a working action it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
