Product Information

This is a very rare first year of manufacture Gustloff-Werke made MG42 machine gun. Gustloff only made the MG42 from 1943 to 1945. In early 1943 they first used secret Nazi makers code "dfb" with the date above. The highest recorded serial number from this early variant is in the 9,300 range. This example is number 4638. Estimated production numbers are not known for this early variant but in the region of 7,000 to 8,000 would be accurate. Later in the year they removed the date code and used the initials "FG". Even rarer is the 1942 tripod that is also dfb marked and carries the correct Waffen acceptance stamp. A rare find indeed. The receiver is correctly stamped with Eagle over WaA4. Additional Waffen stamps that can be found are those of the various sub-contractors who supplied parts for this weapon.

Deactivated to current specifications with a moving bolt carrier and cocking lever that return under spring tension.
