This is a Second World War Spreewerk manufactured P38 pistol (makers code cyq), The serial number 7659b is from a batch of 10,000 produced in April 1943, with matching numbers to frame, slide and barrel, and the correct Nazi Waffen code Eagle over 88. CYQ (Spreewerk) P38s were not date stamped, the general finish was not considered as important with the main emphasis on numbers of serviceable weapons. But they still only managed to produced around 283,000 from 1942 to 1945, the fewest of the three P38s manufacturers during the second world war.
