An original condition WWII Japanese Arisaka Type 38 Rifle chambered in 6.5mm, One specific feature of type 38 was the sliding bolt cover, which protected the receiver openings from harsh pacific climate. It proved to be a hinderance and often would give away the user position to US troops, as it rattled when the bolt was operated. Not surprisingly, many soldiers removed these covers from their rifles. However this example still has it . It also has the chrysanthemum  on the receiver which were often group off. The stock was a two piece construction, as pictured. The rifle comes  fitted with an original and correct leather sling and cleaning rod, both of which are normally missing. Deactivated  to old specifications it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
