Product Information

This is a WWII Japanese Arisaka Type 38 rifle chambered in 6.5mm, One specific feature of type 38 was the sliding bolt cover, which protected the receiver openings from harsh pacific climate. It proved to be a hinderance and often would give away the user position to US troops, as it rattled when the bolt was operated. Not surprisingly, many soldiers removed these covers from their rifles. The stock was a two piece construction, as pictured. The high serial number would indicate this one was made around the late 1930s early 1940s production. The Japanese entered WWII in December 1941 after attacking the US naval fleet stationed at Pearl Harbour.

Deactivated with a working action it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
