Product Information

Deactivated WWII Japanese Arisaka Type 38 Rifle. Manufactured by the Koshikawa arsenal, Tokyo it dates to 1922 production. Still present is the original chrysanthemum with 16 petals (the symbol of the Japanese Emperor), This symbol was often ground off on rifles which were surrendered after the war, apparently as a face-saving gesture. Rifles that were captured in the field normally have the chrysanthemum symbol intact. The Type 38 rifle was designed in the 38th year of the reign of Emperor Meiji (1905) and was used by Japanese forces during WWII. Comes fitted with a leather sling and an original cleaning rod.
