Product Information

A very intriguing 1941 dated J.P. Sauer und Sohn Gewehrfabrik Suhl K98. It was manufactured under secret Nazi code - (CE 41). Sauer were among the first companies to start manufacturing the K98. They began production in 1933 as part of the Nazi re-armament programme. This example is one of an estimated 225,000 produced by them in 1941. It still retains many original matched parts including the complete floor plate assemble, barrel bands and wood work. It is correctly marked with Waffen acceptance stamps Eagle over 37 & 359. It also has some other very unusual markings. The bolt take down disc is stamped the with initials "R.8." possible the 8th Regiment? Just visible on the other side of stock, below the under eagle is the letter H meaning Heer or Army in German. On the under side of the top wood work piece are the initials "Kr" .
