Product Information

Rare Luftwaffe marked WWII K98 coded S/237(Berlin-Lubecker Machinenfabrick un Werke). This is a very early production 1938 dated example. The serial number range from that year was 5474 to 6875d, with only an estimated 50,000 produced. This one has no letter suffix meaning it is about number 1631st of that 1938. This is further supported by the early Waffen code Eagle over 26 proof stamp and S/237 code of which both were only used on early 1938 carbines before being changed later that year. The butt stock is marked to the German airforce and has the letter L below the first Nazi eagle stamp. During WWII this K98 was used during the Nazi occupation of Norway.  Norway was of huge strategic importance to Germany for both its navy and airforce. After German had surrendered the Nords used these captured weapons to arm its own forces. This one is marked with a rare Norwegian stamps : K.ART..... Kistartilleriet (Coastal Artillery) of which very few exist. A great looking carbine with lots history. Deactivated with a working action it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
